Photographer's Note
Another shot of the stunning wild flower display in the Langebaan area. Something Lisa (Delpeoples) said in her last critique got me thinking about the genre of photographs I take and upload on TE. I sometimes feel as if belonging to the wonderful site of TE has skewed the photographic path I walk on and I am not always following my creative instincts or working in a way that speaks to my soul (I hope that doesn't come across as being presumptuous). I hope that this shot speaks to you like it speaks to me.
Thanks for stopping by

Yes, it does.
That has a wonderful flavor of diversity of the nature and peacefulness.
Regarding your note, I guess that's what we all feel sometimes. Everyone makes a choice, often making some compromises.

Hi Rosemary
what an amazing colour show, it must be fantastic to see up close and your shot certainly goes a long way in making us all feel and see the beauty of nature here. It is an idyllic scene and so perfectly captured. If this place does not leave an impression upon you then your soul is wearing ear muffs!! ;-)

Hello Rosemary
Excellent good mood photo with this amazing carpet of flowers. The diversity of plants in the Cape region is simply stunning and your picture is a very good witness to this.
Oh and by the way, I followd your discussion with Lisa about TE influencing your photography. Just keep photographing what speeks to you, it is foremost for yourself and your pleasure you are photogarphin. If you like a photo, so be even if others think differently. I for myself are shooting happely away without ever thinking of TE. If at home I feel that one or the other shot is worth showing here, that is a plus but not my first goal.
have a good day

Hello Rosemary,
You've been there before me... :-p))
This short period of the year when the nature displays one of its most spectacular magic show in South Africa. I have heard about this phenomenon since I arrived here and I hope to visit this place at the right moment sooner or later.
I think that you have found an interesting angle in order to catch the lake in the background, while choosing a nice array of colours and beautiful selection of flowers for the immediate foreground.
Well done!

I can;t imagine anyone that this shot wouldn't speak to at least a little, Rosemary :) Glad to see that you've returned to the flowers here, which seem even more stunning in each subsequent shot. It almost seems like each one has been pulling further and further back, revealing more flowers in more colors than the last. The addition of these rich orange flowers is brilliant! Lovely shot, and by all means, keep posting what you feel - your instincts produce some pretty outstanding images!

hi Rosemary,
I have to say, that this shot does certainly speak to me too, its an uplifting image that delights the soul. Although I am generally not a fan of flowers, and find myself very rarely shooting them, this would inspire me to change that opinion and try to do it more. The colours are fantastic, and the deep blue sea compliments it wonderfully. Thanks for sharing a very magical image.
All the best

Hello Rosemary!
What a wonderful view!! I heard from my sister who stays in Jo'burg that the best time to visit Langebaan & Nam'land is in July- August. Amazing scene really with the variety of wonderful flowers on display (I can identify daisies) & the colours nature paints. I wish I can see this with my own eyes in this lifetime
Best Regards

Hi Rosemary, it speaks to me, even cries :). Fantastic carpet of the colourful wild flowers. The orange ones look like dimorphoteca, I do not know the other ones. It is a pity I had no time enough to see these fields. Gorgeous view.

Rosemary, thank you so very much for your kind words and keeping me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. As I try to get back into the mix of things here on TE, I read the critiques of my last two photos and find it very hard holding back tears. It's nice to have an extended family that hasn't even met me before, which makes you all even that more special to me.
This photo DOES speak to my soul...such beautiful colors and life which breathes happiness into my mind and soul. Simply gorgeous Rosemary, your Mind's Eye is so in tune with Mother Earth.........I love it!!

Hello Rosemary,
The low pov enhances the stunning perspective of this flowery carpet. It displays a dizzling variety of shapes and colors yet while retaining some kind of patterns.
Have a nice day,
