Photographer's Note

As a wild-flower lover, I was completely captivated by the sight of this field of colour. This shot is a broader view of the field where the patches of different flowers makes great splashes of colour against the turquoise waters of Langebaan Lagoon. If anyone wishes to visit South Africa, I cannot recommend a better or more beautiful season than spring when the land wears her very best party dress.

Hi Rosemary,

I have fresh memories of wonderful wild flowers of South Africa. But you found even more amazing flowery carpet than I saw. Wonderful shot, so colourful and sharp.
I returned yesterday from my Southern Africa trip. It was fantastic adventure. I am full of great memories (and a few SD cards are also full :)). I will post some of them soon.

Une autre très belle photo du cap. C'est incroyable de voir toutes ces couleurs qui brillent au soleil, la petite cabane blanche qui sert de de point focal et la mer derrière qui apporte beaucoup de profondeur.

Outstanding wide angle shot with the house as an anchor to a shot full of bright vivid color - flowers, sea and sky. I can see why you'd be so captivated here; this is the kind of vista that sucks you in. Thanks for sharing it - I had no idea that South Africa was such a wildflower mecca!

with such a variety of colours to choose from it must be difficult to know where to start when composing a shot!
This works very well for me not only because of the flowers but also the little white house on the coast line,something to rest my eye on.It`s a fine piece of photography.
