Photographer’s Note
Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most famous landmark and one of the city’s greatest attractions.
Its flat "table top" stretches for three kilometres and is flanked by Devil's Peak on one side and Lion's Head on the other.
The white tablecloth cloud effect has meteorological explanation. The moisture-laden south-easter blows against Table Mountain from over the False Bay and rises. At a height of approximately 900 meters the winds reach the colder layers of air and thick clouds form. These clouds roll over the mountain and down towards the City Bowl. The characteristic tablecloth forms when the clouds reach the warmer, lower air layers and dissolve once more.
The Table Mountain reserve is home to an impressive diversity of indigenous flora, including many endemic species.
This photo was shot from Signal Hill.
Signal Hill derives its name from the time when it was used as a semaphore post for communication with ships at sea. It is from here that the noon cannon is still fired every day.

Hello
Very nice landscape.Colours, depth of field and sharpness are very good. ONly one problem for me:the framing. I think you could have taken a little more the ground as foreground.
Best regards

Hi David,
Incredible clouds here on the table mountain. I've also seen such clouds on the Lofoten, Norway. Very nice panoramic picture you have.
Good Job,

Oi, David! A foto é belíssima, embora eu ache que vc cortou muito a margem inferior. Paisagem estupenda e cores muito boas. A posição das nuvens nas montanhas é o máximo! Parabéns! Abraço! Miguel.
