[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Green point lighthouse is the oldest operational lighthouse on the coast of South Africa
The distinctive red and white striped building is a landmark in Mouille Point. Many vessels ran aground off the Green Point coast and the lighthouse became operational in 1824.

Hi Wanda,
well captured and framed, interesting shot of the still working lighthouse. I like the architecture and the diagonal red-white strips on it, which photographically add more interest and contrast to the picture.
Tfs and have a nice Sunday!
Attila

Nice shot Wanda;

Sharp detail and good tonal range in this shot (nothing over/under exposed). I do find the cropping a bit tight at the top of the image, I think you could have gone with a bit more room between the top of the lighthouse and the frame edge. Other then that an overall good shot. The lighthouse does seem to be leaning slightly, but I think that's just the way it was?

All the best,
- Dan

Hello Wanda!

I prefer lighthouses with palm trees than lighthouses with pines... :-P) It might be because they are associated with beaches and heat, instead of rugged terrain and tons of snow, at least right now.

I really like this structure with distinctive architecture. The geometrical shapes throughout the scene deserved a graphical point-of-view and this full frontal presentation works, because it blends naturally with the elements and their right angles.

The L-shape composition is also well-suited for the organization of actual surrounding, with the tree, the eye-catching tower off-centred and the playground. By allowing the sky to fill half the image, you have made your photo even more "designed", more minimalist and punchy. With this much visual freedom on the right, the light have some room to come from, like a natural "vital space"....

Good job lady Wanda!

André

Hello Wanda,
This is a large beautiful lighthouse, and I'm happy to see it still is in operation!
Up here the last lighthouse were switched off in 1987, and now some of them are used for tourist purposes...
Good light, sharp fine details and a well balanced composition!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I love lighthouses and this one is a real 'beaut'! The red and white look fantastic in this picture. A very nice blue sky. TFS

hello Wanda,
excellent shot, the red-white stripes make the lighthouse look like a candy, and the kids in the playground on the right add to this cheerful feeling. I agree with André that the L-composition works very well, I quite like the free "breathing" space on the right and how the palm trees add a nice accent. very well seen, my compliments.
with kind regards,
Kristine

well framed, the exposure is perfect, nice place and good colours
