This is the Welgemoed entrance gate to the Tygerberg Nature reserve on the the Tygerberg Hills which are the most prominent feature of the northern suburbs of Cape Town.
It represents one of the largest remnants of Renosterveld – one of the world's most threatened vegetation types with less than 3% of this unique vegetation remaining today.
The Environmental Education Centre, located at the Welgemoed entrance, is quite remarkable and well worth a visit. |
