Bloubergstrand,
in Afrikaans literally means "blue mountain beach" derived from Blaauwberg, a nearby mountain.
Bloubergstrand is mainly residential and attracts a large numbers of visitors. The beach at Bloubergstrand is a popular location for a classic view of Table Mountain across the bay.
