Photographer’s Note
My very first post on TE was a (rather tilted) sunset from South Africa. This one is straight and I love the large ship on the horizon. Sunsets are not a real show of talent, I know. Right place, right time, a good camera and there you go.
Still, I really love this shot because it shows nature's beauty at its best and I just can't get enough of this beautiful world!
This was taken during a business trip to South Africa in December of 2007. I had never felt an urge to go there, it really hadn't been on my list. But wow, was I glad that I was able to experience this amazingly beautiful country. I have a lot more great shots in the bag and I now understand why so many people love this area. I'd go back tomorrow if I could!
Hope you enjoy this sunset and feel free to let me know how I can improve because that's what I'm here for (among other things like the great people!)

Hi Linda!

Hi Linda,
Isn't nature amazing, I'm with you, I can't get enough of the beauty that is presented to us every day at dawn and sunset.
Lovely shot, I love sunsets, I had to ban myself from posting them.
You know how your first post had a tilted horizon, well, I'm not going to mention that this horizon is curved.
Warm wishes
Peter

Liebe Linda,
Liebe Grüße und bis bald

Hello Linda,
I never knew you've been to South Africa. And although this image has not much to do with Cape Town itself, i can understand when you stood here and saw this wonderful sunset in front of you. The boat adds a nice focalpoint, but it's the light in the sky what does the magic trick here...

Henk

Hello dear Linda,
I am afraid I have nothing to tell you in order to improve yoru photo... but I like it a lot.
Colours are superb and the boat, positioned at the righ place.
I agree with Henk, it is the light that makes it magic!
Take care and a big hug from Liège,
Marianne

The most spectacular sunsets are captured when there are clouds in the sky, giving lots of texture and different tones to the stunning colours. The trick is the clouds can't be covering the sun! ;D You were certainly there at the right time and the ship on the horizon line is a great addition.

Hi, Linda.
There is absolutely nothing I can tell you that could improve your effort, it looks stunning to me. Textures and hues are amazing, the more I look at it the more I realize we never get to see this kind of stuff in Holland... LOVE IT! Have a nice evening, see ya later.
Fulvio.

Liebe Linda! Toll, wirklich! Liebe Gruesse, Barbara.

Hi Linda,
The sky is a huge canvas, every day mother nature painted it with all kind of colors and tone, it up to us to put it in a composition. You did just that here, beautiful color and love the could formation. You must be tire of the cold snow and icy weather there you started to post such warm image. I agree with you, I learn so much from this site. Thanks
Way
