Aaah, Come on Summer!

Aaaah, come on Summer, can hardly wait, I need a tan!!!
Taken on camps bay beach yesterday. Definately the place to be this summer....
The fashionable Camps bay beach resort is to be found behind Lion's Head on the coastal slopes of the western flank of Table mountain. The rugged mountainous features on this part of the Cape coast have made it one of the most sought after residential areas in the Cape.
This well known stretch of beach is a short distance from Clifton’s beaches. It is known for its row of tall palm trees and a wide grassy area, with shady picnic spots.
The spacious sandy beach is also dotted with huge ancient boulders and rock formations which date back millions of years to the formation of the Table Mountain chain.
The character of the area has made Camps Bay beach a sought after destination for film production companies doing commercials and photographic shoots.
On the adjoining Victoria road a trendy shopping and entertainment complex known as the Promenade attracts tourists and locals alike. Everything from restaurants to upmarket boutiques and beauty salons can be found in the complex. There are also secure parking bays in the basement.
Camps Bay beach is usually very crowded in the tourist season and as there are insufficient allocated parking areas, parking is difficult to find along the road near the beach which is congested with traffic. At such time it is preferable to park in the residential area behind the Promenade.
If you want to grab a shady spot for the day you'll need to arrive early. Many visitors barbecue or picnic under the trees or among the giant boulders. You'll find a shallow paddling pool for the kids and probably the most well kept beach ablutions in Cape Town.
The scene is dominated by the peak of Lion's Head and the upper cable station, which is visible atop the western heights of Table Mountain.
Camps Bay is a well known beach and water sport venue. Surfers can be seen riding their boards, clad in wetsuits against the cold water and jetskis are a regular sight jumping the waves. Beach sports are popular and regular international volleyball events are organised.
You need to take care when swimming off Camps Bay beach due to strong currents. Life guards are usually in attendance during the season and safe bathing areas are cordoned off with flags.
With soon to be summer...greetings.

Hi Lynette,
OK, you have a right to enjoy coming summer while majority of trekkers are facing autumn, rain and all that.
Excellent summer feeling here indeed. well framed with the palmtree and sandy beach. Except that the leftmost sunbather group is cut. Slightly overexposed and could use some extra sharpening.

Hi Lynette
I like the superb high pov, & repetition of all the yellow umbrellas, contrasting nicely with the blue sea. Tfs!

A nice beach scene, Lynette. Good low placement of the horizon, with a nice use of horizontal layering for the composition and a delightful array of color dashes provided by the umbrellas scattered across the beach. Good use of the tall tree at the left as a delimiter. I'm not sure about the plane - on the one hand it adds some visual interest in the big sky, on the other hand it doesn't seem to be 100% congruous with the quiet and relaxing mood. In any case, a nice shot, enjoy summer!

Yeah, summer. and we are coming to the nice cold autumn now, and after that to the winter.
Good photo it is!
HI Lynette,
Excellent contrast between the yellow umbrellas and the blue sea. I like the POV and how you framed the picture.
