Lovedale College, together with Fort Hare University, formed the Mecca of black education in Africa south of the Sahara for many years and they retain that reputation to this day. Amongst the many African leaders who attended either or both institutions are Govan Mbeki (South Africa), Nelson Mandela (South Africa and The World), Thabo Mbeki (ex-President of South Africa), Oliver Thambo (South Africa) and Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe). James Stewart (1831-1905) was the second principal of the college and occupied that position for fifty years. The memorial seen here was erected in his honour by those who were denied the privilege of mainstream education.
PS: Can someone please inform me how to get the image size down to the required level and retain a good file size - this is only 44 kb.

This looks great with the jutting monument well seen and shrouded by such dreamy mist adding to the serenity of the vast landscape, shooting in to sun is very challenging indeed there appears to be white blob although the exposure is fairly well managed there You really do know how to grab the moment creating a painterly soft feel with excellent contrast in minimal colour range which suits the mood pretty well, You have done your best here, Well doen. Congrats
P/S: In Photoshop Elements Help, you go to "Save for Web command" this explains step by step how you go about doing it. Thanks

The different brightness of the mountains give a very good depth to the image, and that tower in the middle of it is great, standing out in the composition and breaking the monotony! Wonderful job!

Goed gedaan, bedankt.
Mooi weekend gewenst,

Hi dear Neels
Very fantatsic landscape view with fog / mist.
Several rays of horizontal lines make so stable image.
Gradations add so iamaginative mood so much too.
All the best and have a good Saturday! Takero

Hello Dear Neels - Nice to see you posting again and this is a lovely layered shot. The light is challenging but you have used it well to create a dreamy and atmospheric shot. Have you managed to work out how to size yours shots for the web as per Abmdsudi's suggestion? If not email me and I'll tell you what I do. Hope all is well in the E Cape. We have had some good early rain, fingers crossed that we have a good season.
Take care Rosemary
