"Look mom, a monkey statue!" Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another pic taken at Sun City, the casino resort in the North-West province of South Africa.

This statue can be found between the main complex and the Valley of the Waves.

I was having difficulty in finding the right angle to take a photo of this statue, because the light was really harsh and bright and flat, when this little kid walked into my viewfinder...

He was very excited about the statue, and called his entire family to come and look at it.

Photograph charming and full with poetry. The child who discovers and is filled with wonder in front of a not very ordinary statue. The colors are well returned. The composition is successful.

The statue does evoke a childlike mood, so to have a child in the image pointing at the statue is a good idea, and adds a human element. Very nice!

Behalwe die tyd van die dag, wat jy niks aan kan doen nie, is die uitstekend. The overwhelming monkey feature, the kid on the strong node on the precise correct node position, the excitement iin his stance, as well as the colours works very well together to produce an interestiing PJ shot!

Come on Henry... Did you pay the kid to pose?... :o) Just kidding. In fact sometimes we get lucky, and you grab the opportunity very well!

First, the colors are fabulous to me. They are very warm. Then, I like very much the fact there are no glows. All light is absorbed by the elements. The high contrast, defines the shapes. And finaly the kid gave you an anchor element to the photo. More, he is very expressive and everybody feel their enthusiasm!

Very nice daily life photo.
