Photographer’s Note

On a night drive in the Kapama Game Reserve by Kruger National Park we found this male lion lying in the bush close to the road. In the background we could hear the lionesses of his pride fighting over their kill, a small giraffe, which he had just feasted on.
It took a bit for him to lift his head as he at first was lying down all full and tired from the recent meal. Fortunately he did and I managed to get this "portrait".

Wonderful image of this Lion, I like the POV. Even in animals the eyes seem to be very important in the final image. TFS
