We were staying at the Motswari Private Game Reserve which adjoins the game rich Kruger National Park in South Africa and is home to Africa's Big Five. It is situated within the magnificent Timbavati Nature Reserve.
Our stay there was most rewarding as we got to see the Big Five, one of which I post here. He and his brothers were disturbed during their long sleep. Don't expect to see much action from these so called Kings of Beasts, at least during the hot hours of the day. We just sat there in our jeep, cameras ready while we waited for the lions to show some signs of life. It was only when another jeep arrived with more keen and excited visitors that this lion decided to raise his head and show some interest at first, followed by signs of displeasure.
In workshop you can see the typical sight that meets the keen wildlife photographer as far as lions are concerned. Afte rall, they are just big cats and we know what cats do most of the day.
More like the KIng of Sloth.

Nice, sharp shot of the lion. I was in Kruger recently too...fortunately, the lions I saw were all moving! But this one is a magnificent beast...great expression and sharpness.

Une superbe prise de ce superbe fauve qui semble bien pacifique mais il ne faut pas s'y fier ! Tu me rappelles de bons souvenirs d'un superbe voyage que j'ai fait là-bas.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

I find your second picture very nice, certainly the small note, perhaps is this the truth.
Also the picture of the Lion is wonderful for look at.
Very well captured and composed. TFS.

Hi Klaudio, A superb photo of this magnificent animal, he looks very relaxed but ready to eat, the sharp quality is very good & I like the way he merges in to his surroundings, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

hai dato da mangiare a questo leone prima di fare la foto, vero? :-))
Bell'immagine del Re della Foresta in un atteggiamento che non lascia dubbi sul suo voler essere dominatore.
Un'immagine valida per il National Geographic.
