Photographer's Note

Sani Pass is a famous mountain pass which can be seen as the gate to Lesotho. The pass is at an altitude of 2873 m right in the junction between the two ridges. The one to the right is called "The 12 Apostles" because of the many similar peaks. If driving the pass, you must know that in order to proceed up from the South African border post, you must have a 4x4 car. Recently they opened for other cars to drive down the pass.

I started the morning at Africa's highest pub, located on the top. I had to reach Johannesburg as fast as possible to avoid paying for the rental car one day extra, but of course I had to take a few pictures while driving down this infamous road. After a while my friend said he would drive so I got time to take a few more pictures in the passenger seat. Later I took back the steering and we headed for Joburg!
