Photographer’s Note

These mimes perform at in a place called Rosebank in Johannesburg. They stand dead still and when you give them a coin they will do some odd movements or a little dance. Every Sunday in Rosebank there is a great flea market, and every day there is an African craft market that is open selling all sorts of crafts and curios from around Africa. Rosebank has plenty of restuarants and coffees shops where you can just sit and relax in the sun.

A beautiful, but also a little sad portrait! Great framing and focus and very nice use of b&w. Very impressive expession of the mime's face and very nice detail on the "crack" of his make up.

I agree with Hercules, I see this portrait a little sad, but original. I like the expressive pose of mime. B&W is good choise.

I think this is excellent Wanda, a great portrait of this interesyting looking character.
Of course you can see living statues on streets in cities all over the world; usually they annoy me and I don't give them any money.
This guy is different though, just look at that face paint, thos slightly crazy downcast eyes, the shool tie. The man's a genius.
