Photographer’s Note
Fixed it a bit with a proper frame.
Just outside Johannesburg you can see these lions in a semi natural state. They roam more freely than in a zoo but are not responsible for their own food. This photo was taken just after feeding time. It is not the ideal like the Kruger Park. For many tourist coming to Jhb for a limited time this is a better option than a zoo. Also for many SA citizens the Kruger Park is out of their reach. Also a change for them to see these typical African kings and queens of the wild.
It is winter so the gras is dead. I would ahve liked some colour but you can't tell a lion you need a better background.

Hi Annette,
I like the colors of the grass for this picture, even if it's close to the lion colors, the difference in texture is enough to create an excellent contrast, Nicely capture with the lion eating. Great shot

Hi Annette,
Very good close-up. Nice warm tone. It is interesting to see that camouflage colour of lion really works. Both composition and image quality are much better than in the original version. Congratulations!

Interesting and dangerous.
I like it, but maybe the frame can be a little different, maybe a small black frame would give a better effect to the image. But, anyway I like it.

Hi Annette, great wildlife shot. From a photographic point of view....yeah, the backgound colors, you are right. However if you took a slightly lower POV, you could get the lioness against a more distant and therefore blurred or a different color background and that would make th lionees better separated from the background. If you look at it from the zoologist point of view, the camouflage is really fantastic. I am looking forward for pics like that from you. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Michael
