These kinds of windmills can be seen all across South Africa in the rural areas, to harness the power of the wind, usually for pumping water.
This one stands like a sentinel in the landscape.

and i thought, otiun had uploaded a new minimalist wonder. oh well! this is so good, you know already, no wanda? splendid "nothingness" yet the human touch with the windmill is still there, as well as the photographer.

I've always liked monochrome and I note that there are a fair few in your portfolio. This one is super: as Deniz says, a minimalist wonder! The placement of the windpump is excellent, pushing the hoary old rule of thirds within an inch of its life. And the cloud on the mountain is both mysterious and beautiful, aiding the simplicity of your composition.

the black and white format combined with the cloud gives this scene a very eerie feel to it. i love the lone windmill contrasted beautifully against the landscape.

Hi dear Wanda
Sorry for my late reaction as usual as already---.
So fantastic postcard in the best reasonable framework and composition. Composition of each component is so well balanced as your tatse, deep consideration and originality. B&W color touch adds good atmosphere.
Full of fantagy shot !!!!
All the best and have a good start of new week! Takero

A bit different from your usual production but I have to say this is quite successful for me. I like the square format and the soft B&W tones. The windmill is the perfect visual anchor and those interesting layers of clouds add something to see in the sky. Bravo!
