Photographer’s Note
This is one of many bronze statues at the Women's National Memorial in Bloemfontein commemorating the 27 000 women and children who perished during the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902.
I took this picture because the light at 16h00 casts perfect dark and light grey shades upon the statue, as well as the incline of the koppie, there were also some lovely light cummulus in the sky, which I thought brought the whole image to life. Hope you enjoy it.

Stunning sky colours. Good sharp picture. Love the way the horses feet are standing directly on the frame. Nice touch.
Well done, Mark.

Yes this is good. Well composed on the right of the frame. The horse is looking down as if there is nothing there anymore. Well done. Apart from elements as colour, sharpness etc, the composition is what this photo gives it the wow-factor. WELL DONE.

It is like when King Arthur steps on the breath of the dragon. I would flip it horizontally to change its direction showing he starts to go (left to right reading perspective), but otherwise really nice and creative! Well done, Mark!

An angular but nice statue, good colours, sharpness is great and the composition, the statue on the line, is very well chosen.
Nice pic, Mark !
