I like the contrast between the deer and the soldier holding the gun. It kind of sums up Africa in a picture.

Hi Swiatek.
Bienf ait

Ciao Swiatek
This picture caught my attention as it's content is sureal. The guy in the pinstripe suit with the cigarette and glasses, looks like something from a David Lynch film! That would explain why he his holding the deer. The contrast with the solider is great, although the sky looks a little too bright though.

As a photo this is a genuine document. We seldom see Somalia shots and its even rarer to see Tarantino images in Somalia... this is "Reservoir deers" the follow up of Quentin's reservoir dogs, Mr.Black has finally retired to Somalia.
I agree that a lot of things there concur to stupidity, from the poseur holding a deer, the black costume and tie under a 45° sun and the military man drinking what appears to be mint syrup. How fascinating, the end of the road for the western symbols of civilization : ie. tie and black costume, even in Vogue, they couldn't imagine that.
very interesting image, also the sky is certainly better than you could expect in a dry land. My only complain is that you hit a bit hard on the sharpening.

Hi Swiatek
Your picture is very interesting. There is not a lot of reports and pictures about Somalia. I like the composition and the POV. Someting is crazy in this picture but the man drinking (beer ?) also has a gun.
It's sureal.
Nice work !

Incongruous image, filled with contrasts. The deer seems helpless in that guy's arms. Almost as if a symbol of innocence was asking for rescue from an evil fortress. Well composed.

Po prostu chyle czolo, Kierowniku! Zdjecie - klasa. To sie nazywa reportaz.

Wow....I am speechless...What a great photo! Great use of a fill flash and exellent timing. If I had to change one thing though, I shoot slightly lower so the head of the deer appear infront of the blue sky rather than the shack for an even more startling photo. Great work.

Hello Swiatek, this is a fascinating image that captures the tough war-torn side of Africa well. At least it is consistent with the pictures in magazines and the movies. The soldier with the machine gun, the 4WD, the sharp suited businessman (which dodgy business?) and the flashy shades. The deer makes a striking addition to the photo especially as it is the emblem of the country. Good use of fill flash.

Hi Swiatek,
Excellent shot, I love the expression on the face of the first guy and the position of the soldier. Really nice composition and good. sharpness. The young animal adds a lot of interest. It looks like a touch of fragility in the middle of a harsh world. The atmosphere is amazing, I can almost imagine a new scene from an African remake of "The Godfather" movie or, like "Nex" says, a remake of "Black cat, white cat" by Kosturica.
Really nice job!
Quentin.

This picture seems so surreel, as if it's been photoshopped !
I don't know the story behind the photo, which makes me wonder and imagine what it could be...
... a man with sunglasses and a smoke, looking very "Reservoir Dogs", holding a deer, and a soldier with a machine gun standing behind him, the three of them at an almost desert place, apart from the car and the small building...
... it could be the beginning of a joke, a movie, or a tragedy...
Excellent shot !

This is a fascinating photo for all the reasons critiqued above. Its mesmerizing in its absolute absurdity. I cant look away though I have too in order to keep from bursting out laughing. this photo is so wonderfully strange to me that I have chosen not read your note and have only caught ideas of what its about from others critiques.... this is tarantinos wildest wet dream come to life.

Hi Swiatek, i want through this picture to say you all my congratulations to your gallery, your style, your crazy way to see life, your originality, the exotism you bring here on TE.
This picture is perhaps the best you provided here and is the sum of all the good you are able to show in your pictures. I read recently an article on this "country in country" ie somaliland, not recognize by united nations, even if it should !
Love the attitute of the man in foreground and the fact he has in his arms a deer, kind of symbol of this country.
I added you in my favs list, you are so crazy and so "high flying" ;-) .. don't abuse drugs ;)

welcome to somaliland! ;o)
i instanly joined the other 32 (to date) and added this to my favorites.
strange sight (to un-trained eyes at least), many symbols, many parallel stories,
elements not fitting together - at least at first sight ... but who am i to judge?
maybe deers fit into well dressed gentleman's arms and heavily armed relaxed
bodyguards have soft drinks while on duty in the middle of wild countries.
love the contrasts.
