[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This young fellow would come to the house with the rest of the neighbourhood kids, yet he would stand apart. While those half his side would jockey for a place in front of the camera, he would hang behind. When some of the other kids were off doing some other bit of mischief, I gestered to hi if he wanted his picture taken. He nodded and resumed this expressionless stance. When I showed it to him on the back of the camera, his face lit up.

Beautiful tones-- the lips look quite chapped and real. Crisp photo! Your title is quite appropriate.

Great work with your color desaturation. He's got a strong emotive glance - somewhat saddened. I also like your crop off the top of the head.
Cheers!
David.

Beautiful portrait! I don't think the quality is degraded. Maybe a slightly deeper DOF would have got the nose in focus, but the important eyes and lips are sharp. Background is well handled. I like the tight cropping and the way you got him just a bit off centre to the left, avoiding a static composition. Too bad you didn't get a second shot of him when his face lit up.

a lot emotion here in eyes... deep glanze, i think this boy had a very sad and hard life.... quality is good, i made a WS, i hope you like it?

Hi Brittany!
You have a wonderful way of capturing people. The pain in this boys eyes makes my heart break. They have seen things in their young life time that i am sure i will never see.
Beautiful!
Well done
Deb
