Taken at the Baptist school in the town of Kabala, capital of the Koinadugu District of Sierra Leone.
Within this single room church which doubles as a classroom during the week, are around 40 students of varying ages that are eager to learn. That is, until perhaps the lesson stretches to far into the 35C day as this was. The older boy on the left had nonchalantly leaned on his arm, allowing for the younger student to briefly turn his head in curiousity to what I was doing in the row behind them.
Supported by CAUSE Canada (www.cause.ca) these students are provided with uniforms and food necessary to continue their primary education and create a foundation for further education. |

Hello Brittany. Eyes, - and otherwise nothing. A view as from a hiding place. But curiously. A very beautiful motive well seen and realisert. In addition a good explaining text. Best regards, Wolfgang.
Hello Brittany. The eyes well framed between the arm give the scene a mysterious mood. I like the look in the eyes. It does give an idea of the awareness of being watch. Good use of colours and perspective to enhance the mood of the moment. Thanks Brittany.

Hi Brittany,
This is one of the best posts in your gallery. Acute observation, split second decision and perfect timming...I like this shot.

I like this photo alot. Focus right on the eyes which makes it work and the eyes are really the only ting that are identifiable (spelling?). Good colors also. Plus, I am also one of those people that will be starting college for the eighth time when I'm seventy. The trick is to get it paid for by someone else.
Great photo.
John
a wonderfully expressive shot, Brittany. I love the rich clour of the foreground and the darkness , giving importance to the eyes. It is very expressive. It is good that Canadian people are helping them, but the help seems to come at a price; the loss of their spirituality and culture. Missionizers are a plague in this country too. Regards kevin
