[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A photograph about the future of Sierra Leone; It's clear who has the future of this country in their hands, though the past is visible in the picture as well (top right) and should not be neglected.

At current I'm only re-posting newly post-processed versions of older photographs, since some photographs of mine have been deleted from TrekEarth for the wrong reasons. I'm still waiting for the moderator to get back to me.

Differences with the original posting:
- I cropped some of the top and left to not have the over-exposed bay-side in it too much;
- Then a gradual layer to the top, same reason;
- unsharp masking, first to lighter (35%-0.3pix) and then to darker (45%-0.3pix)(edit-fade-darker);
- Last a small contrast enhancement and saturation;
- Added a frame with canvas option + tag.

Have a look at the original posting to see if it is better now!

I closed down my TrekNature account. I'm currently working on downsizing my TrekLens account as well.

You can find my newest photography-account on FLICKR.com: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dpbours/

Which will be growing over time...

zeer fraai Dennis,
groet Jaap

Hi Dennis,
an excellent double portrait, nice small DOF. Somehow different from your other works. MAybe because of the location :)
Compliments, Chris

Hoi Dennis,

Amicalement
Gildas

Hello Dennis!
Very nice new portrait of those two children. You captured the mood perfectly, I really like the expression in the children´s face. Technically also well done.....well composed, great point of view and excellent sharpness. Also nice colors, good contrast and a frame that matches to the photo very well.
Best regards,
Jonas

I red about your deleted photo and understand your frustration. Hope you will soon receive an answer from the moderators.

Hello Dennis. At this photo above all the joy of life of the children pleases me. They look to you like a friend. Interesting the technical data and the text. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Dennis
What a cheer - and hopeful capture! Love these smiles and the band aid is the cherry on the cake. I think the gradual layer is a trifle disturbing - sometimes it's wiser to just let these over exposed areas be. And cheer up, don't let the TOS probs get to ya.
Best wishes,
Bert

Hello Dennis,

Bedankt.

Groeten uit Vlaanderen,
John.

Denis,
lovely portrait of these two children, Very innocent and happy, I'm glade that most children manage to find happiness even in the poor living condition. really great moment here, good sharpness and clarity. good composition too. Simply lovely and adorable. Thanks
Way

hello Dennis,

Great portrait of these two children.
Joli sourire !
Bonne journée
Marie

(i hope you wont leave TE also dennis, i know flickr is quite tempting, cos it's good to have you around...)

Dennis Hello, very nice this double portrait, beautiful eyes of these two children that shows happy to be portrayed.
Its a very nice shot
congratulations

Hello my friend. No doubt that the future of a country, is on children .. And more importantly, in a country that has been so beaten by factors of violence, hunger and disease.

God let most of these children, like most infants of under-developed countries, achieving the goals of education and maturity necessary in order for these stocks, leaving the pond in which they find themselves.

I am very pleased your picture, despite many difficulties, still have enough breath to tell us a beautiful smile .. and that their beautiful faces, traits of optimism in sight.

Thank you for sharing and for your note.

John

Bonsoir Dennis
