Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in the main market in Kenema town, Sierra Leone, in 2002. The range of goods was impressive at that time, only months after the conflict in the country formally ended.
I actually took the original photo with a basic Canon EOS SLR 35mm camera and scanned the print. Given that this photo evokes richness and strength of character for me, it is one I'm particularly fond of.
