Giant tortoises are endemic in the Seychelles archipelago. Protected as here, on the small island Curious, a reserve where they are semi-wild tortoises.
Impressive measurements: up to 1.2 meters long and with their heavy armor they can reach 300 kg. Their longevity can be exceptional, yhis one is probably centenary ... the oldest turtle in Seychelles have more than 200 years and is called Esmeralda.
