A shot taken from Anse Soleil as a storm hangs over the north-west side of Mahé. The small island on the horizon is îlot Chauve-Souris (Hairless Bat Island – what a fabulous name!). I was captivated by the storm clouds and light here but having little in the way of a focal point I decided to use the lush green of the Takamaka tree to give he shot depth and add to the colour palette.

Lovely view with this beach, great contrast of light with the sunny part and these dark clouds, beautiful blue sea.

hello Rosemary ,
The stormy weathers are ones of the most interesting moment to take pistures . You've caught here a splendidd moment wher the contrast is the most strinking between the inky dark sky in the BG , and the paradisiac tropical beach in the FG . I lie especilally how you've composed the picture , with the superb effect of the back light in the bush on the left .

Without these tree leaves, the picture will be plain. It's a very smart composition. The stormy sky adds a moody feeling to the picture.

Peut être pas très intéressant pour une journée à la plage mais très beau pour la photo, Le noir des nuages offre un superbe contraste avec le magnifique bleu de l'eau.

We don't like stormy weather, no doubt! But you show us very clevr composition with so precious colors for so bad moment.
As Dorothea Lange said "The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera."
Well done! TFS!

idyllic scene and mix of blue and green that looks so beautiful against a dramatic sky. A wonder of nature image this in the true sense of the word. Love the light caressing the fg leaves. Irresistible!

mi piace la luce che c'è tra le foglie, contrasta magnificamente con il cielo molto scuro.

This is such a warm and rich shot.I like the shade under the waves. And that sky just makes it all so

Le ciel de tempête donne une belle lumière sur la mer et la plage. Jolie composition.

A very good depth here with the close green bush in front of the beach and the sea. The dark sky looks very menacing. Fine colours all over.

While we always look for an open sky to take our pictures, it's precisely these dark clouds that make this image much more interesting, for the wonderful contrast they make with the incredibly clear water! Wonderful place! And the leaves really give good depth to the picture! Excellent job!
