Photographer’s Note
Curieuse Island is one of the only islands in the Seychelles to host a free roaming population of Giant Tortoises. I wanted to capture something different so went for a low angle with a fisheye lens (I was lying on the ground!) whilst this tortoise ate to give a better sense of it's sheer size. That also enabled me to block out the numerous other tourists in the background!
(State is wrong by the way - Curieuse Island isn't listed!!)

Very cute, I wish it was bigger, great timing with the leaf in mouth, you should never interrupt a hungry old one during lunch :-).

Hi Neil, excellent POV. All the wildlife photographers say get to (or below) the animal's eyeline for the best view - and you've certainly done that. My only (minor criticism) is that you've used such a shallow DOF. You could have used f8 with plenty of speed on the shutter. That said, the tortoise certainly stands out from the background. Nice one! Regards, Paul.
