A chameleon in the Niokolo Koba National Park.
This park is a World Heritage with an area of more than 9,000 km2, situated along the banks of the Gambia River, where we can find lots of species, including reptiles.
Spending the night there, in a tent in the middle of the forest, can be a fantastic experience.

Ola Ana, I like reptiles so it must have been delight to see this chamaeleon. I am envious, I have never seen one in free. And probably not easy to see the guy, they are camouflage masters. Fantastic shot, sharp and with good colours.
Warm regards Malgo

how to become invisible?:)
great nature shot and really excellent close-up.I can imagine it´s not the easiest subject to photograph, but you did here good job.
I enjoy also the way you mastered here the depth(blurry background looks magnificent and adds something dreamy to the scene!)
Happy New Year!

Great sharp and fine capture of this strange chameleon. I love the detailing and clarity you have been able to capture on its skin and eyes, excellent! It stands out so well in the blurred BG. Thanks for sharing.

A really handsome little beastie who probably has changed to this colour and blending in with the soft background but he does have some wonderful colouring, doing what he does best here. Excellent close up work i think he certainly looks so co-operative, filled with incredible detail, coupled with the charm of this creature make this image a real winner. You have done him proud for sure! Technically and compositionally first class. Congrats

What a strange animal Ana, your close up is perfect with an excellent resolution and it's very clear, the chameleon appears here in green color, a brillant picture, bravo, greetings

What a beautiful little creature, and you captured the swivel of his eyes pertly well here. Your use of depth of field has managed to isolate him nicely from the blurred backdrop. Beautiful clarity on the chameleon and lovely bokeh in the frame too. Nicely done.

this is a beautiful and so charming wild life photo. I have just recently showed my little daughter photos of this creature in internet but I have never seen it with my own eyes, I am so jealous. Great capture with pleasantly blurred background.
Happy New Year!

Hi Ana, I have never seen Chameleon, and this creature is adorable in this picture shown here. I like the way he/she grabs the tree branch. Stunned sharpness with blurry BG stands out the subject even more.
Thank for sharing

Hi Hola dear Ana, how are you?
So sharp, clear and beautiful nature image at all.
Shallow exposure in the perefct framework setting is so admirable. His eys are amazing as A XChameloen's chacterristics.
A HAPPY NEW YERA 2014!
Ya very calm and also peaceful image in tatseful B&W( otherwise semi-sepia?) color touch. Ya In Japan this year's trade-animal is "horse" influenced by China---.
All the best and have a good Saturday! TAKERO

Chameleons are fascinating creatures Ana (I don't really like lizards, snakes and other such reptiles) but this is a great shot. Pin sharp with an excellent soft green toning backdrop; you emphasise the creatures ability to change his colours and to blend into the environment. Good detail on his 'hands' too, the way they use them to hang-on is amazing. Warmest wishes for 2014. Rosemary

Sneaky little fella', isn't he? :) A great close up look at one of natures marvels, and a very smart depth of field to help separate this creature from the background...otherwise we might not even see him!
Exquisite detail, you really achieved an impressive result. I envy your experience here, must have been something to remember for a long time. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. All the best for 2014.

What a way to bring in the year, with this little man. He is adorable and the shades of green, together with the shallow green depth of field are simply amazing. Excellent detail and light management. An impressive shot.
Warmest wishes for the new year

Amazing face of this chameleon at the moment, perferct quality, excellent sharpness. Two days ago I was in the National park of Sri Lanka, I have some amazing photos of the local fauna too. But I have never seen this animal in wild life. Thanks for the presentation!

well spotted and very well executed picture. The DOF is perfect and the blurred background makes the chameleon stand out from its environment. Very good focus and lovely colors.

this is such a fine and cute portrait of the chameleon, he seems to be studying us with some apprehension, exposed at the edge of the branch. You captured him with amazing sharpness, he stands out as 3D and looks as if he's going to blink or move just before our eyes. The lighting and the colours are superb and it's funny how he still stands out against the green tones of the backdrop you so playfully chose for him. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
