A butcher in the big market of Tambacounda.
This market is amazing and full of life and colour, one of the most amazing ones I saw in Senegal. So much to see here. However, specially in the big cities like this one, the locals don't apprecciate cameras at all, only a few accept photos. In this case, it was not just the man cutting the meat that got my attention, it was also the huge painting on the wall in background. Unfortunately, it was really hard to include it all.

Nous qui prenons tant soin de la manipulation des aliments, je trouve difficile de constater les conditions de vie dans ces endroits.Par contre le boucher me semble bien en santé.Le cadrage vertical est bien choisi dans ces circonstances.

It doesn't matter that you couldn't include all of the painting. We see enough to understand that the market stall was nicely decorated. It was more important that you got close to the butcher. I suppose he was aware of the camera but he tried to act naturally instead of posing. The colours are very nicely mild.

Très bonne photo de ce boucher local (plutôt en tenue de sportif d'ailleurs!)en pleine action. Le décor mural en arrière plan complète bien l'image.

Very interesting street life scene here, especially with the raw meat as a very real foreground to the shot, showing this mans trade so well. Great color, and the mans expression and position are cool too.

A fine environmental portrait, the serious butcher, colours, shades and the stuff standout so strikingly but looks a bit grubby, no doubt the meat tastes excellent. The wall looks like a work of art and so evocative of Africa! anyway it's interesting to see and I imagine visiting a place like this is quite an experience. It's a harmonious daily shot which gives so much for the viewer to think about and it's so nicely balanced composition. It's a diff way of life, yummy! Congrats

And we are making a big fuzz about hygiene and health issues with our food. Looking at the conditions under witch this butcher has to offer his product should give us something to think about.
Truly great witness of the life in other parts of the world.
have a great day

I choose this photo because of the somewhat surreal background of a mural painting, providing a strange contrast.

A superb daily life scene of the butcher in Senegal and I like the background paınting of the bunch of bananas and the woman carrying the water jar on her head. Conditions look less than hygienic but such is lıfe ıs lesser developed countries. The vertical format works well here. Tfs!

in my opinion, your decision to opt for a point of view closer to the boy and to use the painting as a full backdrop, was great. An interesting daily life scene with excellent depth and textures. The light is soft and clear and the natural colours make a great impact. The perspectives and the graphical details create an agreeable rhythm. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Authentic report Ana, it's an open air butcher stand in eastern Senegal, that guy looks concentrated, behind him I see a splendid painted wall depicting the work in bananas fields
