[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Not far (5 km) from Lac Rose, the last stretch of the Paris-Dakar race, lies a village of about 200 inhabitants, half of whom are under the age of 15.
This is the village "chief," an entrepreneur who splits his time between 1)overseeing the village artisans carve bracelets out of cattle horn for the tourists and 2)fathering children. He and his five wives have an even dozen. Polygamy is allowed here, provided one has the means to handle it. The current chief appears to be doing quite all right.

Michael, what a great environmental portrait! The "chief" seems to be giving directions to the people surrounding him. :)

I like the composition, and how his turban echoes the blue of the sky while his coat matches the rusty sand. I would have liked to see the top of the house though.
