Not the best sky or time of the day, but this is one of the scenes I really enjoyed in Lompoul - lines of colourful boats and children around.
Around lunch time, many of these boats had already returned from the sea.
Very close to the desert, Lompoul has also a fishing village that is usually full of life, as fishing is one of the main activities in the area. The sea is a little dangerous here and not the best place for a bath, but the place is usually very interesting, specially the moment the boats arrive with the fish.

He looks very pleased with himself there, he really is king of the castle, or captain of the ship as more appropriate! I love that you took this from an angle where all of the prows are jutting out, one in front of the other. Full of color, and a perfect splash of life too. I am still intrigued by those markings on the boats.
All the best

from this perspective and with this boy sitting on the boat it looks almost like preparation for some kind of race:)
Certainly very picturesque scene(the boats with its colorful painting scheme look marvelous)
The sky is maybe not the best, but still giving a good contrast to the surrounding and rest of the scene.
Have a nice weekend

I've seen similar photo's from this beach, they are all beautiful and charming in their own ways.
even without the 'attractive' skyline or light, there is so much to keep us interested.
I've heard of stories of the local boys/men here will appraoch tourists and give a 'sad' story, requesting money...did you experience that?
love the rustic boats, and the depth. cool scene, one that I wish I'd seen personally.

Excellent viewpoint, superb composition in very good light. You have placed the sitting boy very well in the FG.
The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Well done.

Excellent low POV to get a more impressive view of the bows of these boats.
The boy occupies a place to control the whole beach.
The paint is peeled of most boats but it's obvious that the fishermen love colourful vessels.
Best regards, Paul

I like the low shooting angle and upward pov. Good repetition of the colorful fishing boats with excellent sharpness and saturation. The people add scale and context. Good graphism and shadow detail. Have a nice Sunday!

Nothing to add, just one GREAT!

Looks like they are set to race to the open sea but it's time to rest. Lovely that you managed to get a shot of the weather beaten fishing boats which are such a large part of the ambience, one that is difficult to ignore as these boats are so photogenic despite the state of some of them. The predominant colors add up to express a sense of mood and mission but I wonder what stories those small eyes have seen. Love the angle of this comp, it works really well and takes the eyes to the beach end, combination of pleasing exposure and colours are wonderful. The boy is there to complement this shot beautifully as a strong pointer. Superb foto work, Congrats

Your serial from Senegal is worth seeing. And your nice exotic sunny souvenir, dear friend.

Those colourful and worn out boat are very photogenic. Hazy air give a good idea of hot day and windy air saturted with salty mist. This guy has chosen a nice place to relax!

The young man sit on the fishing boat draw the first view on this photo, Ana.
Yet, the boats "parked" on shore in juxtaposition, vivid and colorfully adorned, are the main asset to this composition.
Fine photojob done, inspite the mist, there is good clear view and the men walk down the beach gave good scale on.
Intriguing and interesting side of our small world.

Ola dear Ana
Ooh this is exquisite. I love the row of colourful, characteristic old boats and the way the little boy is perched on them, looking out to sea. The hint of the sea at the right of the frame gives us the perfect context as we try to imagine the view this little boy has as he looks towards the horizon.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

You have observed a great scene and I have no doubt why you decided to take this image. The line created by the colorful boats looks superb originally but your hero looking at the other folks is absolutely perfectly captured. Excellent work! Well done.

The line of colorful rustic boats draws one to this photo. I like the haziness in the photo, it is suggestive of mystery.
