I took this photo in Lac Rose (Pink Lake) close to Dakar in Senegal. The man was playing the kora in the restaurant of the touristic lake.
The kora is a beautiful 21-string African Harp instrument played by the traditional storytellers of West Africa, known as griots in French, and jeli, jali, guewel, or gawlo in African languages.
Kora can be found in a number of African countries, including Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Gambia.
