A dressmaker in the market of Tambacounda. Considering the tissues he had on the corner, he must have much work.
This market is amazing and full of life and colour, one of the most amazing ones I saw in Senegal. So much to see here. However, specially in the big cities like this one, the locals don't apprecciate cameras at all, only a few accept photos.

Hello dear Ana,
I love this multicolored photo, a slice of daily life in the dressmaker's shop. I didn't know that you were in Senegal in September. If you do any more exotic trips, can you do me a favor by logging onto my website, Bulent Atalay, so that the "flag counter" will register the country. I believe, there are already about 100 nations represented there.

I enjoy images of people at work, and this is a great one especially with that wonderful patterned bright background. Great to see all his work paraphernalia giving us good clues as to his profession. A nice clear sharp and colourful situational image.

interesting and again so delightful and colorful daily-life scene.
This colorful blue fabric covering the walls makes really superb backdrop for the scene.
Excellently composed and timed picture, but als excellent example of real life in remote and exotic countries, like Senegal.
Have a nice day

No specific comments, just like it, especially the colors.

This is a truly amazing place. It looks like a big dollhouse or a room created for a museum. The wallpaper and the dresses hanging on the wall are extremely colourful and the dressmaker himself adds a lot more. Many other details, including the furniture, also make this very interesting.

Hello Ana - I love the vibrancy of this DL shot; everything from the wildly patterned wall paper to the completed dresses and bolts of cloth look so colourful. Nicely seen and a treat for the eyes. Warm regards Rosemary

I am glad that you managed to snap this, a most colorful scene! Although I know nothing of fashion, I image for those who do it would be difficult to pass by this material rainbow without at least stopping for a look. A beautiful combination of the boy hard at work, and the results of his work put together really well.

Surprised to hear that some of the people dont like their photos taken, perhaps its more so the adults?
Love the colors, obviously they pop and sizzle!! Lots of elements make up this cool scene. Too bad he didnt look over and smile for the camera! Haha

Love the old fashioned feel of the 'workshop' - a goldmine for photo opportunity that would entice anyone and i love the way you have included him off centre who is probably not very please with your lens. The processing works well which adds a crisp sharpness and contrast that enhances the whole colourful picture and atmosphere which add to the feel and emotion for the viewer. A very well observed, balanced and carefully crafted composition which works so very well. Great photography!! TFS

It is rare for us to see indoor shots from Africa. This really tells a story with the sewing machine being important for this man to earn a living. Lovely contrasting colours and patterned wallpaper. A very well taken shot with plenty of interesting detail.
Kind Regards, Ann

The blue painted curtain made this simple daily-life scene so vivid and beautiful, Ana.
The young man at the small store looks concetrated in his work, not looking towards you with the camera.
Plain wood-board as banchs and tables, evidence of simple way of making a living.
Nice taken the moment and the place.

The colours are wonderful all around...from the wall paper to the hanging dresses. I like the fact that the boy is doing his work and candidly you have taken this shot...
PS : In case if we do not interact within this week, I wish you and all your loved ones a very merry Christmas

you cropped and framed this picture superbly, rendering the depth more effective and drawing the viewer into this brightly decorated workshop. Everything is interesting and the observation of the details and the dress maker is captivating and delightful. There's an amazing contrast in textures and colours, everything is excellently defined and the whole scene looks so natural. It's great that the dress maker is going on with his work undistracted. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

hi ana. i am happy to see that this remarkable photo gained favour from TE members. it indeed is lovely and attractive with so many nice colors and details to observe. and you did a great job to stick to real colors, it looks so tempting for saturation :) the closed cadrage makes it look like a theater stage. very well done.

é uma pena que o garoto não estivesse um pouco melhor posicionado. gostei muito das cores e dos padrões deste pequeno ateliê de costura. belo trabalho.

Africa is so full of colors. I really like the inside walls of this shop. The blue color is especially bright. It's a treat to see this dressmaker at work, and get to study the details of this small shop: the sewing machine, a mirror, a certificate of some kind. It's a lovely daily life scene.
