And here's my first photo of Senegal. This is the road that connects Kedougou to Segou, in the South of the country, near the border with Guinnee Conacry. During the rain season, it gets sometimes difficult for many people who have to use it daily, but the landscape is really beautiful.

This "puddle" is a sad look in a way, because it causes so much trouble to people, but it certainly gave you a fine picture. The man in red and the two donkeys are very nicely reflected, as well as the trees, and the combination of dark clouds and sunshine has provided a superb light with very intense colours. This is one of those photos which really tell us something about a country.

A very interesting daily life-picture showing us the difficulties people experience during their necessary journeys.
The photo itself is colourful and shows very nice reflections in both big puddles with the red shirt of the man and its reflection as real eye-catchers.
Best regards, Paul

ta photo est magnifique: netteté, couleur et lumière tout particulièrement.
vous avez bien su tirer profit de la flaque d'eau pour le reflet.

Flooded road but it opens up the photo opportunity there for you to exploit the situation and that guy in red seems to be about right in position is very vital strong element connecting to the whole rural scene. The still water has created with wonderful reflections seen from a good view point, deep rich colours and exposure well manged, I think the topical subject is well recorded and presented with seamless results, and good photo journalism too. My congrats

do you mind me asking why you traveled to Senegal? :)
I only ask because I know so little about this country.
Maybe for Europeans Africa is an easier destination but for us in Canada, especially western Canada in Vancouver, Senegal seems a lifetime away!!!
Very curious about your trip and I'll be following your next set of photos closely.
I really like the overall exposure and lighting in the scene, its so well controlled.
peaceful and quiet mood, nice shot with the donkey :)

Une scène bien caractéristique de la saison des pluies en Afrique. Une belle mise en image avec une bonne exploitation des reflets.

here is a country that I have yet to visit, beautiful light and reflections, fine details and natural colors, excellent street, waiting curiously for more pictures of the place...have a good day...

A very successful and atmospheric shot, with some very gentle and subtle effects of the light, as the sun emerges. Such dense and richly coloured foliage, and of course the sunlight beneath the dark sky is always a lovely sight.
Great timing to capture both the donkey-drawn cart and the lone pedestrian. It looks like the driver is taking the cart around a huge puddle!
Great to see this beautiful photo from so far away in another world.

The flooded road makes a beautiful feature here Ana but is probably cursed by those who use the road! The light is really attractive, highlighting some of the grasses and adding good bright contrast to your shot. A super DL shot, I wish you had uploaded a larger version so all the fine details could be really enjoyed. Warm regards Rosemary

a lovely daily life photograph, the mule and cart is perfectly positioned beyond the swollen river to give the image great charm and poignancy.
Super photo journalism.
Kind regards Les.

I don't know much about Senegal, I know mostly about its music and football. The first photo from your journey there is marvellous and I'm sure we'll enjoy and learn a lot through your new series. The scenery is very charming, the lighting and the colours are so beautiful. Superb depth and clarity give us the chance to really savour this view and scene. You've captured the little cart at a great spot in the frame. Coongratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,

That large puddle appearing in the middle of the road created a good photo opportunity. Nice reflections. Lush green forest looks good. Man and the donkey are well placed.

foto bonita essa no Senegal. Gosto das cores e reflexos na água. Acredito que estava num veículo de tração ou numa carroça para conseguir andar por essas estradas de terra inundadas.

It's nice to see a daily life scene from rural Africa. I like the reflections in this giant puddle, although I can see the trouble it causes for people on the road. The person and animals add another bit of life, and I like all of the greenery in the background.
Gigidusud (13397) 2013-10-13 14:58
Très jolie photo de ce paysage après la pluie. La lumière et les reflets sont superbes. I like it!

Wow, you certain make it around the world. It is a little easier in Europe to visit many of the Africa countries. From the U.S. it is a long long way. This is a fantastic photo of the rural landscape and well as daily life and the dark cloud and water from the rain adds so much to the composition and love the reflection. The man in red and the honkey cart is a perfect element to this image. Congratulations.
