Photographer’s Note

Scène de vie dans la brousse africaine.
La traite des chèvres est l'affaire des enfants.
Tous les gestes sont précis et synchronisés.
On pourrait croire à un jeu, mais c'est la vie tout simplement.

C'est la première image que je présente avec mon nouveau 70-300 mm DO IS. Les conditions d'éclairage étaient difficiles et j'étais presque à la tombée de la nuit. A 300 mm, le stabilisateur d'image est vraiment un gros avantage dans ce type de situation.

Scene of life in the African bush.
The draft of the goats is the business of the children. All the gestures are precise and are synchronized.
One could believe in a play, but it is the life quite simply.

It is the first image which I present with my new 70-300 mm C IS. The conditions of lighting were difficult and I with had almost fallen the night. To 300 mm, the stabilizer of image is really a large advantage in this type of situation.

Bonsoir Bertrand,
Je reste dans le bain avec cette photo puisque ce matin même j'ai un collègue de travail qui viens de me montrer toutes ces photos de ces vacances au kenya. Au programme une semaine de détente en ensuite une semaine safari en pleine brousse.
Magnifique photo du même style que celui-ci, belle scène courante du pays.

fabuleuse scéne de vie, voir ces gamins hyper concentrés dans leur travail et le top c'est le chevreau dans les bras de celui assis, une netteté qui permet de voir beaucoup de détails de cette scéne, bravo et hop dans les favoris

Hi Principal,
For the first time in mine life I have seen how a goat is milked. Amazing!!! Just imagine if the boat were the size of an elephant, where would be the position of the kids...and I am sure the kid who si holding a baby goat, might be found siting on the top of a baby elephant.
Uts the body language which highlights the shot..and whetehr its Asia or Afrcia....you are the Principal of the magic school of Photography in which I love to be enrolled for ever.

This is a wonderful scene,verry well captured.It realy looks like the scene was created by a coreograph.
The poses of all "artists" are great and the expression at the face of the girl in yellow is fantastic.And the boy,so young,with a pose of maybe the further chief,"controlling" the girls is my favourite.

En voyant ta photo, et surtout la superbe profondeur de champ et le bokeh très doux, je pensais écrire un commentaire comme celui-ci : "le plein format du 5D a encore frappé".
Mais je découvre que c'est une photo prise avec ton 350D, donc : quelle technique, bravo !

Je me souviens être allé dans des villages peul , dans ctte région de Saint Louis...
La scène est vraiment parfaite, à la fois unité et diversité.
La posture , axpression du petit au chevreau est extraordinaire, ainsi que le chevreau, d'ailleurs.

tu as su te mettre à la hauteur de ces bambins et rester inaperçu (merci le 300 mm !!) une scène toute en spontanéité et d'authenticité. un superbe moment capturé.

une belle scène de vie quotidienne en effet,cette photo est pleine d'enseignements.sur les tâches des enfants,beaucoup d'énergie déployée pour remplir une si petite calebasse,l'amour des animaux avec cette fillette qui tient le chevreau dans ces bras,le seul garçon qui se contente d'être là..plein de poésie dans cette photo, sans parler de la technique ou il n'y a rien à redire.
les attitudes et la place de chaque personnages est superbe.

Trés belle scene du quotidien,c'est toute une histoire cette image,4 acteurs et la chevre au centre comme point central de l'image,ce noueau caillou semble excellent ,beaucoup de piqué et performance que de pouvoir shooter au 1/100eme avec une telle focale...

Hi Bertrand,
Your success with this shot inspires me to experiment further with my 70-300, as I usually find the lighting problematic...Here the exposure level seems just right and you have captured the children and goat in superb detail with clarity. I like the framing here and the natural expressions of the children. The dwelling in the background is a perfect backdrop for the scene, balanced by the trees on the left. A first rate capture.

Je me demande si le Sénégal est un endroit sûr pour voyager et faire des photos dans de tels endroits perdus. Je me souviens que nous avons failli être zigouillés une fois a Nairobi pour avoir osé faire des photos dans un marché Africain.

Cette photo est superbe dans le sens qu'elle donne l'impression qu'elle a été faite en toute tranquilité ce que me fait comprendre la parfaite composition,

Nice daily life scene of Africa with these children in full work and motion and their 'boss' the little guy on the right side of the picture observing their work. The background of it, with the typical savanah trees and house is a very nice background to this colourful photo.

Malgre les conditions difficiles d eclairage comme tu l as mentionne, je trouve que la photo est reussie et bien nette ou l on peut voir des enfants occupes a traire la chevre avec beaucoup de concentration. j aime bien egalement l aspect flou de l arriere plan.
