Photographer's Note
The single location on Earth, where mountain gorillas live - the Virunga volcanic mountains. We were advised not co come closer than 7 meters / 21 feet from them, however it was them who did not obey, they did not care at all about us. Beautiful animals, fantastic face play and gestures. It was a unforgettable experience meeting animals who are in the evolution chain the closest to us. One can think, we are just proud holders of a slightly newer version of software, nothing more.

Ciao Michael!
One hour ago I was speaking with one of my friends and I said "I would really like to go in Rwanda..." e voilà!
I think you are a lucky man: What did you feel to be so close to this wonderful creature?
The picture is amazing: great composition and contrast.
The color is amazing and the gorilla's eyes... WOW!
Bravo!
See you soon...

It is a luck to see and photograph the most splendid terrestrial animal of our world so, thanks for sharing. does the face of the pictured gorilla had a sad and doubtful mood about its existance?

Congratulations, I think I would not have the courage to face a gorilla that closely. I have seen one in a zoo once and he was veeeery impressive and looked really strong! I like the composition here with the green leaves and the gorilla's face behind them.

This is an exceptional primate capture Mickael,
mountains gorillas are so rare animals and your photo note is very useful about that. They are very different from plain gorillas and both endangered
A tribute to Diane Fossey and her fight for their conservation and against poaching
Virungas area is a remoted place to acces because of high rains there, disease and thick vegetation
An excellent picture of that primate
Best regards
