[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These are several of the kids that would come by the house to see me on my visit to Rwanda. It is from a photo project about the lingering effects of genocide, and how America views children like these. In the final presentation of photographs, they are printed much larger than life, confronting the audience.
There was something about me kneeling on the ground in front of them to take their picture and have them close in on me that still sends chills down my back. I am honored that they would let me take their images, and I am looking forward to going back.

make this photo in some kind of press or world photo contest..very good one

Hi Abram and belated welcome to TE!!
I really like the tight frame choice here! And the little boy on the left in the foreground looking at the main character is really putting the latest in perspective. It's a nice and usefull addition in the frame. I think I would I would have prefered to have an empty background, without the kid looking at you (but that's something difficult to control for sure ;-)). I also like the fact that the main kid in the foreground is not looking straight at the camera (but a little bit upper).
Maybe a would crop just a tiny bit the top to get rid of the highlight on his forehead (i'll try it on the workshop) but it's a small detail!
Congratulations!
Vincent

Hello Abram,

outstanding documentary style portrait -- it grabbed me from the thumbnail and the full-version did not disappoint.

DOF, POV - both really good -- you resisted the urge to oversharpen(wish I could say the same for many others on this site)...

Little dark around his left eye -- perhaps a centimeter too close ..... but thats just extreme nitpicking. Its fairly perfect in my eyes - nothing really stands out for criticism.

An interesting moment in time you've captured here Abram!
regards,
steve

Stunning.
Great depth of field and framing. I imagine the large scale print would be even more powerful.
I look forward to seeing more shots from your trip.
