[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These are BaTwa women dancing. The BaTwa tribe is marginalized in Rwanda. "Others" do not want to associate with them. Originally hunters and gatherers in (now) vanishing forests, they have left much of a traditional lifestyle behind and are trying hard to integrate into the rest of Rwandan society.

I was sent to photograph their plight. Their dances seemed a big part in holding on to some heritage and ultimately in coping with the discrimination they face.

This photo is meant to represent a small but important part of life for a larger group of women (and ultimately a micro-society).

Beautiful image. The blurring, and warm colors.
The overexpose white part appearsto be part of the scarf. I would have tried to get some color (yellowish)detail there, just some density using image software. I am almost sure there is something left in the original to use here.
Still a great image and I love it

Morris

Hi joop,
I like the mood of your picture.

Phil.

hello Joop,
I like the blurr and the colours, almost like a fauvist painting. Nice picture.
greetings, inn

Hi Joop,
a great image with beautiful colors. I love the blur that gives the dyamism to the scene, the feeling of the dance.
Superb.
Happy new year : )
Fred

Nice all the mouvement and colors of this picture. Very informative, also a register of a dying way of life.

Flavia
