Photographer’s Note
At the annual Wodaabe gathering in Niger, young camel riders raced around the festival ground in front of girls to show off their riding skills. The approaching sand storm didn't phase them a bit.

Bonjour Linda,
Magnifique prise de vue et superbes tons de sépia avec une partie de ciel bleu. J'ai déjà fait une excursion dans le désert mais il ne ventait pas. Excellente composition.
Félicitations!... et bonne semaine,
Emilius

Hi there,
Wonderful photo! I have written my MA thesis on Niger and have therefore spent many months dreaming about this country! The camel silouhettes are fantastic and elegant...the light is fascinating! Well done, Léonie

Hello Linda,
Beautiful backlighting picture. It could stand for a film clip about Lawrence of Arabia.
Very good neatness and sepia colours.

Its great to see other peoples lives and what do you know, they show off to the girls here as in every other country. A very good action shot.

Linda: you'll receive alot of attention for this shot straight out of "Lawrence of..." or "A Thousand and One...". Splendid control of light with the fast snap.

Amazing shot, full of dynamism and casting very well the situation. The sky in the pic is a bit dull, but I guess with all the sand it was very difficult to get it better. Maybe a cir-polariser (you had plenty of light at f/5.6 and 1/1000 sec exposure) would have given you better contrast and a nicer coloured sky.
TFS!

Awesome shot. The soft light though the dust makes it so moody. Great capture!

Hi Linda, A very powerful image of this camel race, something we don't often see. The dust makes it more dramtic. Good composition. TFS. Murray.
