Photographer’s Note

This stone arch can be seen in the beginning of Djado mountains in the very north of Niger. This place, far from everything, was until the begining of XX century, a fertil oasis;but french colonisation army burned the oasis to stop the rezzou of Toubou and Touareg.Since this period, people leaved this place, very hard to live in and very isolated, and with mosquitoes; they just come back once a year for taking palm fruits.
In the workshop you ll can see the ruins of a fortified village.
