Photographer’s Note

This stone arch can be seen in the beginning of Djado mountains in the very north of Niger. This place, far from everything, was until the begining of XX century, a fertil oasis;but french colonisation army burned the oasis to stop the rezzou of Toubou and Touareg.Since this period, people leaved this place,very hard to live in and very isolated, and with mosquitoes; they just come back once a year for taking palm fruits.
In the workshop you ll can see the ruins of a fortified village.

Interesting picture from very remote and exotic place. Good composition and useful note. It is very impressive to see a place abandoned because of the war...

C'est l'arc de triomphe dans 1000 ans ;o)...non je plaisante, une tres joli paysage semble tres aride malgres les quelques arbres qui trainent. Impressionnant ce que peut faire dame nature !
J'aime bien cette image, c'est simple et pure.
Peut etre aurais tu pu essayer de faire ressortir un peu plus la couleur du sable...a moins que c'est la vision reel ?

Hello Joël,
tes 2 images sont très belles.
Celle-ci avec cet arche et l'arbre juste derrière est très intéressante.
J'aime aussi les traces de jeep sur la droite.
Tu as déjà beaucoup de WS, mais je te présente encore ma vision.
