Perfect composition. The faces construct a great diagonal and all of them are illuminated fantasticly. You have managed a very striking grey-scale. The harsh light is well captured by it. Of course it is extremely 'contrasty'. So, it comes at the cost of loss of detail in the shadows. But in my view it is well worth it for the graphic quality it brings to the shot.

As for the image: Equally fascinating. I have friends who do voluntary work among the nomads in Niger. I really hope to be able to go as a volunteer photographer one day.

Inspiring shot!

You have some of the most interesting photographs in this site, not to say some among the very best I've seen anywhere. But you already know that. I don't like your black and white conversion here; I think the greys are rather dull and there is a kind of very unaesthetic halo around the veil of the woman on the right handside. The photograph is absolutely fantastic though, composition wise. What a talent. That's what one can call being close.

Hallo Swiatek,
I've also seen some of your photos through a recent upload from you in TE. Well,I must say you're also one of the photographers who is not fairly treated in terms of points :-)
Your photos are mostly of great quality and contains humor also. I like them. This one also.

Rather powerful portrait work, the closeness to the Fulani work wonders. [But there is something strange about the sky...perhaps the noise reduction software did not do its job well, and bit oversharpened near the border to highlight regions.]

Another great B/W image, Swiatek, this one really tightly composed, the group like a bunch of grapes. Tremendous detail, excellent contrast.

Pozdrawiam
