Around this mount( at step salt water point)french soldiers won a fight against Toubou and Touareg rebels in the beginning of last century. After that, they burned the oasis to prevent this people coming back again...
In the WS you can see a man near the water point, low in the picture, so you can have an idea of the highness of this mount (Leonie ask this to me yesterday).
