[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Early in the morning before the heat, the cattle comes in the only left guelta in Arakao. This is a place where the big eastern erg try to jump over the moutains. The sand, pushed by the wind form gigantic dunes which try, but unsuccesfully, to grow and to become higher than the mounts.
This water is the only water left by the oued in this dry season; so nomad people have camp near.Aman iman (water is life).

A fascinating picture. I love the curve of the goats around the edge of the pool, it leads my eye right around the frame. This is an excellent photo for TE - I now know a little bit more about the world :-)

Good shot.
I like the frame. The light seems to be much more merciful here.
regards,
Krzysztof

I never would have thought that goat butts could make such a great picture, Joel! This is very nicely composed, and vividly depicts an aspect of life in the desert.

That's a very good compo Joel nocely seen with this curve around the darker rock with all those goats to a second level of that hill in the background .
Good coloring sharp to the edge and clear reflection makes this very pleasant to see.
Outstanding
Greetings
Henk

Izzet

A fabulous photo! The composition is really classic, with immense depth. The detail is astonishing. The reflection of the sky on the pool is very effective as is the row of drinking goats. Excellent.
