Just kidding about the international airport, but this is the landing strip at Pouros, just west of the Skeleton Coast. As our outbound plane was landing, our guide backed the Land Rover out into the "runway," jumped up on the hood and unfurled a roll of toilet paper as a windsock for the pilot. Not very high tech, but perfectly effective.
See the workshop for the "boarding gate." |

ha ha ha ... looks like a dessert for me, nice landscape and POV. Brilliant blue sky with clouds.

I had a quite similar experience in Botswana, when I flew a small Cessna to and from the Okavango Delta. It was a great trip as we flew very low over the delta. I like your photo and I really think the WS is also excellent. Well done.

Haha I love those kind of international airports...
I hope they also expect to open a direct flight to another international airport I visited in Ibo Mozambique this summer. The pilot had to land in a two steps procedure first flight over the runway to frighten the cows eating the grass, then real landing if the wind was still alright.
(btw Mimi, I've seen you were in Moz in august too, have you been up to Ilha and Ibo by any chance?)
no way your luggage will be lost:)
nice one
