[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We woke up before dawn to race to Sossusvlei's Dune 45, a pile of sand perfectly sculpted for the sunrise warrior. As the sun slowly rose, the dunes surrounding us ignited into a fantastic, glowing orange that is burned in my memory. From that dune, we drove to Deadvlei, shown here, a pan where rain water used to flow and collect. The area is now surrounded by sand. This particular day, the sparse clouds were ideal as they permitted a balanced mix of dynamic shadow and light across the dunes.

Hi Christian,
Funny picture. The title of your picture could be ''Wooden bird ''The branch looks like a bird with a long neck and a long beak.I can see its black eye too.One wing is spread out.

Excelent composition and colors. Maybe a bit lighter would increase the quality. Anyway, it's a good shot.

Bravo Christian : la couleur rose souvent si fade est ici paraitement juste ; Lavant plaan , intrusif me plait beaucoup
Vincent

I like the colour, the emptyness! the old trees, the sky, and that totaly dried up look about the place.
