Photographer’s Note

Surprenant dans le désert du Kalahari, non loin de Sossusvlei, des barrières traversent le désert sur de nombreux kilomètres. Une végétation aux couleurs rouges se développe de place en place. Je pense qu'il s'agit de lichens. Les couleurs ôcre foncé et rouille parfois sont dues aux grains de quartz et de mica qui s'usent et se chargent d'oxyde de fer.
La Namibie entière est un merveilleux pays pour l'amateur d'images aussi je vous souhaite d'avoir la chance comme moi de le visiter.

Incredible colours in this, Gerard. I had to do a babelfish translation on your note to see if they are real. I assume the lichens are the red bits. This is a very bold and striking image, but I think it could have been better composed if you had cropped it as I have done in the workshop, placing the white mountain off centre, and not having so much of the foreground road in it. There is a tiny bit of noise in the sky and a few dust spots as well - so you should remove those, reconsider your cropping, and then I think you will have an image ready to hang in an exhibition! Superbe paysage avec ces étonnantes couleurs, c'est très lumineux et les montagnes avec leur relief escarpé contraste aussi avec le reste du paysage, belle photo.

Pour être franche, je trouve les couleurs un peu trop saturées, mais j'aime bien la composition avec les 4 différents plans (route, barrière, végétation, montagne).

Je me rappelle très bien ces barrières qui longent la route et les paysages désertiques sur des kilomètres dans cette région de Namibie. Il me semble qu'elles délimitent des propriétés privées (mais je me trompe peut-être car mon voyage remonte maintenant à plus de 2 ans).

couleurs effectivement surprenantes, surtout les jaunes, le ciel quant à lui parait tout à fait normal.
Une photo pas banale, montrant un paysage vraiment particulier, dommage que ce soit si loin de chez nous.

Salut Gerard, alors elle n'avance plus trop ta gallerie ? T'avais démarré fort mais on voit moins de photos de toi ces temps ci ... J'avais l'intention de commenter la photo ou on voit les enfants sauter mais celle ci m'a interpellé, faut dire, difficile de la rater, meme pas très bien réveillé, ce jaune attrape l'oeil !!
Puissant, bonne gestion en PP, ça ne laisse pas indifférent

Pas étonnant que cette photo ait été prise en Namibie...Ce pays doit-être merveilleux. Les couleurs sont toujours surprenantes comme ici. Le rapport entre le jaune et le bleu est magique de par son intensité.

Wow, stunning shot, Gerard. The colours are so saturated that it's hard to believe they are real; still I assume they are close to real. I especially like the orange road and the red lichens, and even the centered hill doesn't bother. The barriers were made against wild animals I presume...

these colors are so amazing and strong we can think it is a painting, not a photo. Good pov, colors and light. The lines of the landscape are very nice put in the compo and the colors too. It would be fantastic if there was a people or a big animal in the scene too. Anyway this image is fabulous. congratulations
