Dead Vlei is an old pan which has not had regular water since the river changed its course. Now it has only the skeletons of old acacia trees, some of them over 500 years old. This is situated near Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft park and desert.Dead Vlei is easily reachable from the 4WD car park, but is about one hour's walk (5 kms) over soft sand from the 2WD car park.I've opted for the walk however it was almost noon when I reached the 2WD car park.
After 10 kms in a really sunny day, I was a little bit
tired when returned to the car park but it was worthy.

Desolation is the feeling which this picture is inspiring. A very good composition, with fire in the sky and withe sand (or salt ?) on the floor.

Great composition--you took potentially distracting tracks in the background and led them into the foreground, such that they now serve to lead the viewer's eye to the trees.
A very interesting picture that does indeed impart a feeling of desolation. Nice work!

Wonderful shot Szili,
I like to meet this kind of photos. Superb colours of the dunes. Excellent perspective with this dead trees in front and trails on the dune leading a sight in depth.
All the best,
Deyan

Hi Szili
Woww. This is a very impressive desertic picture....no surprise it is synonymous to Dead Valley (though less crowded I suppose)
Wonderful colours and atmosphere.

Hi Attila
I know this place.
Fantastic POV for this amazing area. You captured very well the conntrast between the beige pan and the orange color of the dune. Dead trees improve lonyness feeling.
Congratulations
JP
For better TE organization, please change the location.
The district is Hardap not Karas
Thanks

Hi Szili.
It's just me again. In my opinion this is your best picture. The atmosphere of solitude you created is great.
Furthermore, the thacks are a good point.

I liked the transition of colors in his photo. It does give a burn effect imo.

Hello Attila
This does not look like the earth at all. Amazing picture! Love the contrast of the salt pan with the dune in the BG. The dead trees, look burnt & lonely. A fantastic shot my friend.
Best Regards
Angshu
