Photographer's Note

I do not tire of the desert landscape. Whether it is looking lush and green as it is here or dry and windswept during the winter months there is always something to catch my eye. My advice is to get out and walk, you will be amazed at what you will see. Tiny insects scuttle about, windblown seeds fly in the dry air, lizards hunt for food and if you are lucky you will spot larger animals that are hardy desert dwellers.

In this shot you can see an ancient camelthorn tree providing food, shelter and shade for some of the desert dwellers. Fresh seasonal grass completes a ten day life-cycle after the rains have fallen and in the foreground you can see the effects of the wind as it blows across the sand creating ripples and blurring the detail
