Photographer's Note
Driving south of Opuwo towards Sesfontein, the gravel road begins a steep climb up Joubert's Pass. Perched high above the road and proudly against the skyline one can see several of these beautiful leafless trees. We stopped for a short break and enjoyed the views.

Hi Rosemary
The white tree bark contrasts well with the deep blue sky and the darker, rground.
Quite an arid and dry environment!

Hello Rosemary,
The lower point of view makes the
tree bigger/higher and exciting.
Also the composition is great, you
show that less is more (I like that).
The great light shows every detail
and makes the colors beautiful.
Friendly regards,
Robert

Hello Rosemary,
une superbe composition, j'aime bien la proportion entre la bande de roches et le ciel bleu, et l'arbre blanc qui structure et remplit la photo avec un élément vertical.
Bon W-E

Hello Rosemary, the rocks provide a nice base for the white tree against the nicely saturated sky.
The tree might be a bit central but it certainly has impact.
Best regards Les.

Hello Rosemary!
Looks simple, but your effective capture makes this a beautiful picture. Well conceived, the leafless, barren skeleton like trees looks like reaching towards the deep blue sky. Its a harsh terrain judging by the rocks on which these trees grow. Well done!

Hello Rosemary,
I like those trees as much as the quiver trees. I like their shape with almost no leaves. It was perfect here the point of view from below to put them against the empty sky and in same time to show where they live.
For the composition, perhaps the right side is a bit empty. I would have suggest a crop more to a square shape.
Yves.

Hi Rosemary
I don't want this to sound condescending, because it certainly is not meant to be, but your photography has improved exponentially. You really are a great talent. every photo is different, beautifully composed and uses an amazing colour palette. You have such a great understanding and love for the country that you're photographing...it comes out in every photo one after the other. Here the tones are striking and contrast so well against each other. The two sparse trees alone on the horizon emphasise not just the vastness but the unforgiving nature of this stark landscape. Great job, congratulations.
Have a lovely day

Hello Rosemary,
Below the deep blue sky, these trees without barks seem to thrive in this parched land. I imagine they are hard wood, characterized by a dense tree rings and centuries in age. At least, they are evocative of the Josiah trees in the Wild West of the United States. I like you composition very much.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Rosemary,
Striking graphism of the white trunked trees against the blue sky. Again, it reminds me of Australia.
