During our stay in Nambia, we spent three days in Etosha. This park is quite different from others I saw in Africa. First, it's the largest one with almost 23 000 km2. Second, most of its part is made of a large dry salted lake called "Pan". And most surprising, we don't meet much people when driving around. We could easily spend one hour before meeting a new car.
These are two zebras from a group of about 50 playing before a storm, Etosha National park, Namibia. The light was quite special during those three days in Etosha since there was always in the background large storms and rains pourring over one part of the horizon.
When I noticed those zebras playing around, I tried to get some dark sky in the background to contrast with the nice low light of the evening.
Happy New Year to all !

Great capture. They had to be moving around alot and you got a very clear picture. Great job.

I think this is a very good action shot; I'm even surprised that the 1/800 shutter managed to do the job, but it's extremely sharp. Your timing was great in catching them in this pose. And the blue sky adds to the overall quality. Those stripes look great. My only very small quibble is that the rear hoofs are so close/cut off at the bottom, but there can hardly be time for careful framing under the circumstances. Well done.

Suffisemment rare de voir une bonne photo animalière sur TE que je ne peux la laisser passer, même si, comme déjà dit je crois, je regrette toujours ta participation très limitée à ce site
Bonne année 2010 Steven

A great capture, you were lucky to witness this and even luckier to be able to capture it. It is almost as if they were posing for you. The composition of your shot is excellent and the light is beautiful. The animals are perfectly sharp, with a nice bokeh in the BG.
Compliments and all the best for 2010!

wonderful capture, so much energy. on my screen it looks a tad bit overexposed - i think it would gain much in beauty with a little deeper colors. but great shot nevertheless...

Bravo pour cette scène capturée au parfait moment, l'effet très spontané donne un superbe résultat, la map est parfaite, une très belle photo animalière.

Very great shot and very sharp..
Good momment, but I would like to see their legs fully and also with the dust. Because the dust give more passion to this picture.
Thanks for sharing..
