Kalahari desert, a photo from Khomas, South

Photographer's Note

This is a lonely road in the Kalahari desert. I was driving 70mph in an old 1600cc VW beetle towards the Namibian border. Nothing infront on me, nothing in my mirrors. No radio reception en no signal on my cellphone. The first and only time I was alone on Earth and felt free... and was very happy. (:

Hello Star,
That photo is impressive. There is good depth and perspective here and we also have a movement impression. What a long road, wouldn't be there walking :o)
Just one thing, I would have cropped the lower part of the picture to erase the vehicule which, I think, distracts the eye. And try also to write a little note.

The sharpness could have been better! If it was so lonely, you could have stopped and take the picture then:-)
I like pictures of lonely roads. And this one is very good as well.

What an excellent road, quite a surprise, and what a great car to be driving, looks like it's had the full hipy paint treatment too. Good control, considering you were driving at the time. Oh, and welcome to TE.

I've read about this desert in geography book. But this is the first time I can see that famous desert through your photograph. But I want to see more from Kalahari desert. Your note is really touchy.

What an inspirational note. Nice capture on while moving. I think this needs levels adjustment. I will post a workshop shortly.

could have put iso to a higher value to avoid blurriness on the picture since the vehicle was moving when the picture was taken. a little cropping on the lower part of the picture would also help to avoid unnecessary subject. i like what wtirado did on the workshop. nice contrast wtirado, and i like the addition of the frame. great note on the image though.
