The small Catholic Church of St. Boniface is all that remains standing of the area commonly known as "The Old Location". It was here in 1959 that black and coloured women staged a demonstration against the re-location programme of the South African "apartheid regime". 11 people were killed. Across the road is the old cemetary, now a National Monument.

une photo haute en couleurs et en relief, un POV de très bas qui se montre efficace.
My best regards.

The flowers right at the bottom just grab one's attention and then the spiky plants take over. What a beautiful image in great composition with the church towering above it all. I do not recall having seen this church and it is about time to visit there again. I have great memories of Namibia. A pleasure to view. Best wishes.

The church plays a supporting role in this photo where the cactus steals the show with nice colours under sublime light.
The red flowers punctuating the foreground echo the roof and clock tower. Although it is partially in shadow, I like the way you have framed the church spire.
Good atmosphere and vivid colours.
P.S.: Only scratching the surface while passing through Windhoek, I got a good vibration about your city. It's clean, inviting and some residential areas are truly opulent. Hope to have more time to spend there on a next visit!

Hello Rosemary ,
A very well chosen perspective . The eyes go from the cactus in the FG towards the beautiful church tower in the BG . Like the different lightings , too , very well managed .
